Glo-CAF Awards: Ayew, Toure, Aubameyang listed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Abuja on Monday announced the names of three top nominees for the 2015 African Footballer of the Year Award.

The names were announced at a joint press briefing by the CAF, organisers of the most prestigious annual African footballer of the year award and its exclusive sponsor, Globacom, the Next Generation Network at a joint press conference held at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja on Monday.

Dokpesi remanded in Kuje Prison

Dokpesi remanded in Kuje Prison
Chairman and Owner of AIT and DAAR Communication Plc Chief Raymond Dokpesi yesterday arrived in Kuje Prison ahead of the perfection of his bail terms.

He was shielded from anxious inmates at the facility by warders.

According to a source, Dokpesi was brought to the prison at about 4.55pm and immediately taken to the Prison Chief’s office.

Immigration job scam: Court remands Moro, ex-director in prison

A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded a former Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, ‎and a deputy director in the ministry, F. O Alayebam‎i, in prison pending the hearing of their bail applications scheduled for Wednesday.
Justice Anwuli Chikere on Monday ordered their remand  in prison shortly after they were arraigned on 11 counts of N 675m fraud bordering on the botched March 15, 2014 National Immigration Services recruitment exercise.

Victorious Under - 23 team gets $500,000 from NFF

The Nigerian Football Federation has paid $500,000 to the victorious Nigeria under 23 players that won the last African u-23 championship in Senegal. On Saturday, Nigeria defeated Algeria 2-1 to become the winners of the second edition of the U23 AFCON. Each player earned $12,000 while Head Coach Samson Siasia took about $24,000.

The Federal government has indicated plans to gradually remove fuel subsidy by 2016. This was made known by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu while appearing before the Joint National Assembly Committee on Finance, Appropriation and National Planning yesterday Dec. 14.
